Harry Allwine worked in the auto industry for over 60 years in the Omaha
area. Harry started in 1937 at Andrew Murphy Mopar Parts Co. After departing
Andrew Murphy, Harry worked at the Fort Crook Bomber Plant for three years.
Later for a short time Harry lived in Detroit and was later drafted into the
Marines and was stationed at Camp Pendleton.
In 1946 he returned to Omaha and worked for Maxton Mitchell & Webber
Motors as a parts manager. From 1950 to 1963 Harry held the parts manager
position at Monty White Chrysler, Briley Mortors, and Bill Chick Chrysler
Plymouth.
After open-heart surgery in 1977, Harry WENT to work for Baxter Chrysler
Plymouth in 1978 as wholesale parts manager. During that time, Harry, along with
many other area body shop owners, helped start the Nebraska Autobody
Association. Harry was a charter member in the association and attended all of
the conventions up until his retirement in 1998. During that time, Harry
received several outstanding salesperson awards from the convention directors
and became infamous for his 'Harry Sez' advertising in the Surgeons of Steel
magazine.
Harry was very proud of his association with the NABA and more importantly,
with the people he met through his involvement. Harry believed in giving the
customer the best service possible. His motto was,'If you're not satisfied,
neither are we!
