Lee Heckman

Lee Heckman was born in Norfolk Nebraska on May
26, 1948. He attended school in District 43 through the
8th grade and went on to graduate from Norfolk High in
1966. After graduation from high school, Lee attended the Universal Trade School
in Omaha.
With our nation was at war, Lee served in Viet Nam from
1968-1969 in the 9thCalvary Airborne Division and was awarded a medal for
heroism and the Purple Heart.
In
1970, Lee started Heckman’s Body Shop located in downtown Wisner and four years
later moved to a new shop with greater capabilities. Lee was one of the original
founders of NABA and served as its second president from 1978 to 1979. Lee
retired from the business in 1998. Lee has three children. Kevin, the oldest,
lives in Durango Colorado; Neil is a science teacher who lives in Hastings
Nebraska; and Angela lives in Cedar Bluffs. The Nebraska Autobody Association
and its members are proud to recognize Lee Heckman for his long-standing
contributions to the collision repair industry. The industry, its members and
allied members have benefited immensely from Lee’s spirit, which has served to
the betterment of the industry for present and future
generations.
