John Loftus

John Loftus is an influential figure in the collision repair industry worldwide, due to his passion for the industry and his belief for upholding high standards, which are essential to the growth and development of this industry. John has the ability to communicate on industry issues with the media and people at all levels of the insurance, automotive and collision repair industry as well as government regulators.

Since the Nebraska AutoBody Association's (NABA) second convention in 1979, John has appeared at many NABA functions as a motivational and informational speaker. It was through John's efforts in 1997 the industry became aware that provisions of the Nebraska Unfair Claims Settlement Practices Act may be in violation with the arbitrary capping of paint and materials.

On December 31st, 2000, John retired with over 48 years experience in the automotive and insurance industry. Throughout his career, John managed automotive dealership parts and service departments, was an insurance adjuster, owned and operated two collision repair businesses, was President and Executive Director of the California Autobody Association, was collision Repair Director of the Independent Automotive Service Association, developed and contributed toward industry training programs and consumer information brochures, participated in network TV programming, represented the United States at international collision repair events, served as the Executive Director of the Society of Collision Repair Specialists (SCRS) from its inception until his retirement, and held a variety of other positions which helped him in confronting industry issues.
